Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality has realised another important project that strengthens the city’s transport network. Buzağılık Bridge, which was successfully completed by the Department of Public Works and connects the two sides of Susurluk Stream, was inaugurated with a ceremony attended by Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality Ahmet Edip Uğur.
With an investment cost of 3 million 682 thousand liras, Buzağılık Bridge, which was tendered in 2015, starts a new era in the transport of the region. Susurluk Mayor Hüseyin Hızlıoğlu stated in his speech that they are happy to fulfil a promise they made in 2014. He stated that this bridge, which is approximately 300 metres long, had been closed to transportation for 4 years and that it could be realised with the support of Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Edip Uğur.
The inauguration of Buzağılık Bridge will contribute to the further easing of transportation in Balıkesir and increase the quality of life of the people of the region. The bridge will facilitate urban and intercity transport, allowing citizens to save time. With Buzağılık Bridge, Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality further strengthened the city’s transport infrastructure and put it into the service of citizens.
